A reminder that the annual Armistice Ceremony will take place in the Chesterfield FC Memorial Garden this Friday. The ceremony is a day early as there is a match on the Saturday.
This year we will be remembering 19 players and officials who gave their lives in the wars of the last century. This is one more than usual as a guest player from 1917 has been confirmed as losing his life with the London Regiment. That player, Alfred Cooper, will be added to the wall next to the Memorial, along with goalkeeper George Woolley.
The ceremony, which will be attended by current players and staff, is open to all. It will commence at 1.30pm.
