Half-term soccer camps

The Community Trust are set to run half-term soccer camps for children aged 5 to 13.

There are three different types of camps, which are:

• Mixed gender soccer camps
• Girls only soccer camps
• Goalkeeper soccer camps

The camps run at St Mary’s School in Chesterfield and are aimed to keep children fit and having fun during the school holidays.

The camps are running on February 20/21/22/23, from 9am to 3:30pm.

Alyss Jackson from the Community Trust told us a little but more about what the camps entail.

She said: “The camps are purely designed to ensure that the children turn up, have fun and leave at the end of the day with a smile on their face.

“They partake in lots of different drills, games, physical activities and social activities that provide the children with all the skills and knowledge to improve their football skills whilst having fun.

“They really are great camps; the kids always leave smiling.”

She also commented on the coaches that run the sessions and expressed how fantastic they are.

“I truly believe we have the best coaches around,” she said. “Our coaches are well qualified and very experienced in what they do.

“They are always willing to put the extra work in and ensure that everyone is having fun. They really are brilliant.

“I’m so proud of our camps in the past and the coaches that have run them are a vital part of why they’ve been so successful.”

Alyss also stated that plenty of positive feedback on past camps has been received, saying: “The parents always comment on how much we engage the children and really get them involved. We’ve received lots of fantastic feedback and our return rate is great.

“So many people come back to our camps time and time again. They’re clearly enjoying them each time – it’s great to see.

“I’m sure all parents are a fan of their children coming back from camps really tired and that’s what normally happens because they’ve had so much fun – it gives the parents a quiet night!”

Finally, a message was given to anyone thinking of booking their child onto the camp.

She said: “Just come and give us a try, you won’t be disappointed.

“Our prices are great and for what you get it really is worth it.

“Your child will definitely have lots of fun as well as improving their football skills.

“It’s important to note too that your child doesn’t need to be good at football or experienced within football to attend. We have so many beginners attend these camps and they fit right in.

“Anyone is welcome to attend. Just drop us an email to find out more, we’re willing to answer any questions.

“You need to act fast though, we’re already at record numbers and spaces are extremely limited – so book now!”
