Importance of the badge to social prescribing project outlined

Jo Bowman is the project manager for social prescribing at the Community Trust and she explained the importance of the link between the programme and Chesterfield FC.

She said: “The power of the badge is honestly mind-blowing. I can’t believe how attractive it is.

“Young people and their families have come and can’t believe the opportunities that are on offer to them at the Trust.

“It’s absolutely fantastic and it’s really exciting to be involved with. I’m so proud to be involved with this.”

Jo also outlined the importance of the funding received, saying: “We’re part-funded by Derbyshire Community Health Service [DCHS] and we’re also funded by Primary Care Network [PCN].

“Those funding partners and the ones we refer into are vital for us and we thank them profoundly.

“They’ve come down and seen what’s on offer here and the opportunities available and that’s been the best thing. It’s been really exciting to be part of. I’m so impressed.”

On the future of the programme, Jo said: “We want to expand and get involved with many different things.

“It’s all about networking and getting more people involved. We want to develop more young people’s voices and build their personalities.

“I’m so proud of my staff and the young people and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

Referral links are currently done online via email and Jo explained the process.

“Please just email in and someone will get back to you with the referral link,” she said.

“Find us on social media too, as all our information goes on there and you can even message in. Don’t be afraid, get involved and we’ll help you!”
