With the resumption of the Trust’s school holiday football camp, the attendees at the Spireites Soccer School have had the opportunity to see the National League trophy up close.
The Soccer School has been taking place at St Mary’s Catholic High School this week, featuring a mixed camp and a girls’ only camp.
Nora, who is attending the girls’ camp, said: “I enjoy seeing my friends and having fun. There’s not the pressure of trying to score or anything, it’s just fun.
“I’ve been playing football all my life but I’ve been taking it a lot more seriously the last six months and wanting to join a team.”
On the feeling of having her picture with the trophy, Nora added: “I’m really, really happy. It makes me feel proud to live in Chesterfield.”
Jayden, who is attending the mixed camp, said: “I love coming to the Soccer School because it keeps you fit in the holidays and you make new friends.
“My favourite activities are when we play in teams and I’m defending.”
On the opportunity to see the trophy, he added: “I’m really excited to be next to it because all the Chesterfield players have touched it!”
Charlie, also attending the mixed camp, added: “You can come and play football even if you’re not that confident at it. It feels really good to be next to the trophy.”
