Job Description & Person Specification

Title:                            Chester’s Den and Café Supervisor (Full Time 37.5 Hours)

Reports to:                   Facilities Manager

Based at:                      The HUB, Karen Child Community (East) Stand, 1866 Sheffield Road, Whittington Moor, Chesterfield S41 8NZ

Job Purpose:                 To supervise the running of Chester’s Den Playcentre and Café, including staffing, promotions, meetings, training and stock management.

Salary:                          Competitive (dependant on experience)

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • To oversee the Chester’s Den Playcentre on a day-to-day running basis, including staffing rota, opening and closing of the Playcentre, cash handling and stock management.
  • To oversee the Chester’s Café area, including service, cleanliness, displays, promotions and the customer experience.
  • To promote the Chester’s Den and Café on all social media platforms and to promote the work of the wider Community Trust
  • To work with the Facilities Manager to ensure the building area is developed and maintained to a high standard
  • To promote and deliver seasonal events 
  • To generate new custom to the Playcentre and Café
  • Ensure a safe and secure working environment is maintained by ensuring adherence to relevant health and safety legislation and procedures.
  • Ensure that all due-diligence and paper housekeeping is maintained – including temperature records, stock rotated, dated and labelled.
  • To maintain a database of all attendees including where appropriate contact details for future promotion material.
  • Ensure that risk assessments for all areas are completed, maintained and updated as necessary. 
  • To work when required at all Chesterfield FC home fixtures.
  • Any other task which is deemed necessary by the Trust as it grows.
  • To work evening or weekends as and when deemed necessary by the Trust.
