Cycle ride raising funds for Trust

Lifelong Chesterfield supporter Dan Cresswell is currently taking part in a multi-continental cycle ride, raising money for several charities, including the Trust.

Alongside his friend and fellow adventurer Alain, the duo aim to finish their journey in Bangkok next year, with Dan having departed from Chesterfield at the end of May.

Attending university together, Dan and Alain gained their love for adventuring after a trip to Malaysia as part of their degree in Tropical Science.

Following the conclusion of their courses, the pair both felt the itch to journey once again and ultimately decided upon cycling their way to the Thai capital.

Dan said: “I loved living in Asia so we decided to go back there.

“I wanted to set off from Chesterfield myself, meeting Alain in London. We then went down to Dover and across to Dunkirk into Europe.

“It’s really about the journey and the people you meet along the way.”

After embarking in early summer, they have made their way to Albania where they are currently resting before continuing on their way. They have been recording their progress so far, producing monthly updates via YouTube as they make their way through the countries.

As well as raising money for the Trust, some of the money raised will be split evenly between CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and Islington Food Bank.
