Chester’s Den re-opens with new features

Chester’s Den has undergone some recent improvements, with new additions inside the play centre.

It is the only soft play area based within a football stadium in the country and is an ideal setting for youngsters, with slides, rope swings and a climbing wall based within the facility.

The play centre was reopened by Councillor Mick Brady, former mayor of Chesterfield, who said: “Chester’s Den was already brilliant and now it’s so much better. The facilities have been upgraded and it looks great, with the little ones having a blast on the new bits.

“It is fantastic and it really helps the community. The impact it has is fantastic.

“I would urge anyone to get down and support the club and the Trust. I’m sure the younger ones will absolutely love the new facilities at Chester’s Den.”

Darren Parkinson, the Trust’s facilities manager, added: “We’re really happy with the refurbishment of Chester’s Den. Lots of planning has gone into it and we are delighted that it is now ready to be used again.

“The improvements will make it even more enjoyable for the youngsters who are already having fun on the new sections. With the café within the play centre, it’s a perfect place to bring the kids.”
