PASTORAL MENTOR

Who inspires you?

I don’t have anyone who ‘inspires’ me but I have a lot of admiration for people, such as: my boss, she has seen something good in me and used it to our advantage, she has been there through the good times and also some very bad times, extremely support. I sit and watch her working on other aspiring people and it makes me smile, she just doesn’t know her own worth. I hope one day I can be like her.

What is the best concert you ever attended?

I went to an Example concert in 2014 in Leeds which was my son’s 17th birthday and we paid for him to meet Eliott Gleave who signed his shirt ‘Happy Birthday Joe’, a fantastic concert with amazing company.

The last books I read were the 50 shades trilogy! I seriously need to read more…

What are you passionate about?

I am extremely passionate about young adults with mental health, I feel this is the right age to start tackling any issues they might have but also knowing what it feels like helps validate their emotions, we are not just numbers in a system we are real people who need to be treated like real people

What did you want to be when you were younger?

A nun! I then wanted to be a teacher but got poorly with my own mental health so I had to put that on hold, as my circumstances drastically changed I wanted to do a pastoral/mentor role for secondary school-aged pupils
