The summer Spireites Soccer Schools recently came to an end and they were once again well received.
Taking place at St Mary’s Catholic High School, the sessions involving skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting, followed by some fun, football-based games and then a themed tournament.
Co-ordinator Liam Coles explained: “We’ve had an average of 52 participants a day which is which is really good as it’s an increase on last year and children are coming away with smiles on their faces, which is what’s important.
“We’ve had loads of positive feedback. We’ve got parents coming in who say they’re brilliant. We have parents book on for the whole course, where their children come every day and they seem to love it.”
The next Soccer Schools take place in October . “We’re looking at implementing some Halloween themes, maybe with Halloween-based games and possibly even staff dressing up,” said Liam.
There are boys’, girls’ and mixed camps, for children aged five to 13, with all abilities welcome.
Keep an eye on the Trust’s website and social media channels for news of future camps.
