This summer, the Community Trust launched their brand-new soccer school Wow! Days, in partnership with the Leisure Pod at Tapton Golf Club. The Trust would like to thank the Kelvin Wilson, who runs the Leisure Pod, together with the team at Tapton Golf Club, for allowing it to be used as a venue for the Wow! Days.
Robert Stevenson, the Trust’s physical education lead, said: “Introducing the Wow! Days has been fantastic and the children have absolutely loved it.
“We have been able to set up a day of activities which include outdoor activities such as football and footgolf and link it with indoor activities that children love like playing on game consoles.
“Games they play also include active games to encourage physical activity alongside the element of the game. The October Wow! Day is already online and bookings can be made.”
Leisure Pod owner Kelvin added: “It has been great to partner up with Chesterfield FC Community Trust to be able to deliver something like this. The Leisure Pod wants to be able to support the local community and working with the Trust allows us to do that.”
The children who attended thoroughly enjoyed their time on the Wow! Day, as shown in the following feedback:
“The Wow! Day was indeed wow.”
“My child had an amazing day; she hasn’t stopped talking about it. Can’t wait for the next one.”
“Best day ever! I had an amazing time.”
