The Community Trust’s Adult Weight Management Programme continues to prosper.
The programme is designed to aid adult males in and around Chesterfield with their weight-loss journey, providing fun, unique and engaging tips and workouts to increase their chances of success in losing weight and choosing a healthier lifestyle.
Iain Milner, who recently completed the programme, said: “It’s been really good. It’s been really engaging and more importantly I’ve found it really fun and enjoyable.
“That’s the key word for me really, it’s actually been really fun and I’ve enjoyed taking part as well as seeing health benefits.”
He also touched on what he thought was the best part of the programme, saying: “The educational side of it was massive for me.
“Being able to have discussions with other people on the course was really helpful.
“We could all share our views and help each other out as well as providing advice and tips for each other. That was really beneficial and I thought this was a really underrated part of the programme.
“The other side of it was the actual exercise. It was all very games-related stuff and there was a friendly competitiveness about all the games we did, which made it more enjoyable.”
The Trust has a track record of delivering these types of programmes successfully, Iain was very impressed with the delivery of the programme, adding: “I was slightly worried about it at first, I wasn’t sure what to expect.
“The guys delivering the course were exceptional. They were spot on with what they said and they really knew what they were talking about.”
When asked what the course has done for him, he said: “More than anything it’s just put me in a better place.
“It’s given me the tools to use wisely. I can now think about what I eat and it really makes me think about what I’m putting in my body.
“I feel so much better. I even sleep better now, which I didn’t even think would link, but I truly sleep better ever since I took part in the course. I’ve lost weight and I’m genuinely feeling happier.”
Iain also had a message for anyone thinking about taking part in the course. “Just do it, honestly I would really recommend it to anyone,” he said.
“I was really sceptical at first but there’s nothing to worry about and there’s nothing bad about it at all.
“It’s really easy and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their lifestyle. The facilities here are exceptional and it’s a great place to come to.”
