“What a fantastic opportunity for our students”

Students from Ashgate Croft School were thrilled to be able to quiz five Chesterfield players via Zoom during a recent session organised by the Community Trust.

George Carline, Tom Denton, Laurence Maguire, Nathan Tyson and Curtis Weston all took part in the virtual event and answered the questions put to them.

Wendy, a teaching assistant at the school, described the impact the session had on those taking part.

She said: “What a fantastic opportunity for our students. They are still talking about it now!

“The players are a credit to the Chesterfield Football Club. All of our questions were answered with kindness, patience and lots of humour.”

Keith Jackson, the Trust’s head of sport & activities, said: “It was a pleasure to be a part of the visit, with one of our long-standing Spireites Partner Schools, Ashgate Croft.

“The kids had some great questions for the lads and it was one of the most fun sessions we’ve had. We were even treated to a cameo from the manager, James Rowe, who came in to say hello to the kids.”
