On Saturday, February 3, the Trust hosted the annual ‘Time to Talk’ event at the Proact Stadium for the Chesterfield vs Crawley match.

Time to Change’s annual event aims to end mental health stigma. The ‘Time to Talk’ Day gives people the chance to be more open about mental health by talking to someone, listening and trying to change people’s lives.

1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem in any given year, but many of us are too afraid to talk about it. But talking about mental health doesn’t need to be difficult. It can be as simple as making time to have a cuppa or go for a walk and listening to someone talk about how they feel.

There were 25 volunteers from different organisations like Samaritans in which they helped hand out Z-cards and flyers, answer questions from the general public and direct people to the point of call that was set up in the HUB.

Health and Wellbeing Officer, Andrea Linacre said, “I thought it was brilliant to have a themed game around mental health and to also see so many volunteers. From the feedback I received, fans engaged well and asked the volunteers questions in which they felt comfortable asking.”
