Over the past 3 years, North Derbyshire Running Club have been raising money for the Trust. This year they have raised an outstanding £600.
The participants have also benefited from being able to use the facilities at the HUB. John said, “The facilities here are top notch and it is brilliant that we can use the hydrotherapy pool if people get hurt or whether it just be the toilets, shower or cafe just after a run.”
John Cannon is also one of the organisers of the CBD Training 5K Santa Fun Run and Walk and the Unit 1 Martial Arts 1500m Santa Fun Run and Walk.
Both of the fun runs are on Sunday 24th December with the 5K starting at 9:30 am and the 1500m starting at 10:30 am. Places are limited and if you want to take part, then you will have to book your place by Wednesday 20th December. The minimum age for the 5K is 11.
The Senior Spireites Walking Football Team will also be playing a Santa 5-a-side on the same day as the Fun Run’s with five dressed as red Santa’s and five dressed as blue Santa’s.
Entry Fees for the events are as listed:
- £12 for anyone over the age of 16 for both of the fun runs.
- £7 for children between the ages of 11 to 15 for both events
- £5 for children aged up to 10 years of age for the 1500m fun run
The funds raised will be split between three charities. These charities are Weston Park Cancer Charity, Ashgate Hospicecare and the Chesterfield Mayor’s Appeal: retreat@theRoyal.
