Chesterfield FC Community Trust has developed the Senior Spireites brand which covers all of our activities for people aged 55 years and over. Activities include the following:

Senior Spireites Gentle Exercise and Social Club

Wednesdays 11:30am to 12:45
Whittington Moor Methodist Church Hall
Scarsdale Rd, Whittington Moor, Chesterfield S41 8NA

The main aims of the Extra Time programme were:

  • To provide exercise opportunities so as to increase physical activity. Physical activity improves both physical health and emotional well-being.  It is one of the most important factors in maintaining a good quality of life.
  • To provide a programme that improves muscle strength, balance and mobility.
  • To provide social networking opportunities which can help address some of the social exclusion and isolation issues faced by older people.
  • To increase the target groups interest and connections with the professional game.

Older people are a group that Chesterfield FC Community Trust engages with. The UK population is aging generally but more locally in North Derbyshire there is a higher than average number of people aged 60 years and over. The Trust believes that it is very important to support older people to create a range of opportunities to stay active both physically and socially in later life.
