Martin Thacker MBE, chair of North-East Derbyshire District Council and vice-chairman of the Spireites, visited Camp Inspire earlier this week.
Commenting after his visit to Parkside Community School, Martin said: “It was humbling to visit Camp Inspire and witness first hand the programme planned for local children and young people.
“Participants were able to engage with peers, staff and volunteers in a meaningful way. Carefully considered activities ensured that children were motivated and able to develop skills.
“It was wonderful to see how self esteem was promoted at the same time. The atmosphere was positive and vibrant. The project is very worthwhile and genuinely inspiring.”
