Help for Ukraine from Spireites academy

The Spireites academy sent supplies at the weekend to be delivered in support of Ukraine.

Players, staff, parents and the communities in and around Chesterfield pulled together to send much-needed items to the people of Ukraine.

Collected throughout the week by the academy, over 60 boxes-worth of donations, consisting of clothes, toys and necessities were sent to Ukraine via the Church of the Annunciation.

Some fans will know of the club’s connections to the Ukrainian Spireite, Volodymyr Holod, who shows his support for the Spireites via social media.

It was decided that the academy would do their bit to help out and academy manager Neil Cluxton hailed the fantastic response from everyone involved with the organisation.

He said: “It was a great effort from the community. We hope that our efforts make an impact and help those struggling in Ukraine.

“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who was involved, from those who donated to the ones who delivered the donations.”
