Black History Month assembly delivered to Spireites Partner School

The Trust recently delivered a Black History Month assembly with a Spireites Partner School, Eckington Juniors.

In partnership with Councillor Lud Ramsey, chairman of African Caribbean Community Association, the Trust delivers a message of equality, diversity and inclusion.

Lud said: “It was very positive and the kids wore me out with the volume of questions.

“It’s hugely important that we link with these children to give them some first-hand experiences of racism and how it can manifest itself in society.

“It’s vital that children see and acknowledge that we all have a responsibility to make a change and to make that change happen.”

James Aspinall, the Trust’s Premier League Kicks co-ordinator, said: “These sessions give children the opportunity to ask questions that they may not ordinarily get the opportunity to ask and to hear Lud’s story is both interesting and inspiring.

“It’s crucial that we as the Trust help deliver and support these messages.”
