On Saturday, April 14, the Trust was lucky to have the Under-17’s European Championship in the HUB before the derby between Chesterfield and Mansfield Town.

A lot of fans took the chance to have their photo with the trophy which has been won by the likes of Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, Republic of Ireland and this year’s host nation, England.

Chester the Field Mouse also paraded the trophy around the pitch during half time of the Chesterfield game and Under-17 European Championship wristbands were handed out to the crowd.

England are drawn in a very tough Group A with Israel, Switzerland and Italy. The tournament actually kicks off at the Chesterfield FC Stadium when the Young Lions face Israel on Friday, May 4 at 7pm.

The other group games at the Chesterfield FC Stadium alongside England vs Israel are:

  • Group B: Slovenia vs Portugal (Monday, May 7 at 3:00pm)
  • Group C: Belgium vs Denmark (Friday, May 11 at 1:00pm)

Chesterfield will also be hosting a quarter-final on Monday, May 14 at 7:00 pm and a semi-final on Thursday, May 17 at 7pm.
