Chesterfield FC Community Trust are launching a Pan-disability football session for young participants between the ages of 8-12, with a Special Guest attending the launch night on Friday 19th January.

Sessions will take place weekly on Fridays, 7-8 pm at St. Mary’s High School. Officially launching with Leon Taylor, a member of the GB Paralympic Football Team, arriving at 6:30 pm to meet and greet the participants.

We are excited to launch the session on a Friday night so we can offer youngsters with disabilities the chance to play football and engage with other participants with a similar interest and passion to play football.

Dylan Bath from the Community Trust, who is the co-ordinator of the project is excited about the disability football sessions starting. He said, “We want to engage with everyone in Chesterfield and North Derbyshire and provide an accessible, fun and engaging football activity. The Trust using links can reach out to young people across the area and hopefully attract a large number of young disabled individuals to take part in our sessions on a Friday. We’ve been working closely with our partners at the stadium, including Ellie Simpson from CP Teens and we are looking to launch another session together in the very near future.”

The session will be run by professional FA qualified coaches; the first session is free and then available for a small charge of £3 per week thereafter.

For more information on the sessions, visit our website, email the activities team or call the office on 01246 264030.
