On Friday 27th October, the Community Trust hosted an Afternoon Tea in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. The event was a success with over 60 people attending and having a good time.

The afternoon tea even brought a special visit from the Mayor of Chesterfield, Councillor Maureen Davenport. She thoroughly enjoyed herself and joined in with the events activities and also bought the first poppy.

The activities that took place included a singalong with Debbie Johnson, play your cards right, a quiz about the great wars and a raffle.

The event was a huge success as £1859.50 was raised from both Friday’s Poppy Appeal event and also Saturday’s bucket collection before the Chesterfield vs Carlisle match.

We would like to thank TM Accounting Services, Banner Jones Solicitors, BRM Solicitors and Chesterfield College for the continued sponsorship during the lead up to the event. We would also like to thank S41 Radio for providing the music for the event.

The Trust would also like to thank everyone who attended the event and we hope to do this again next year.
